(Mineola, NY) Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell joined New York State Senator Dean Skelos and other local officials to mark the 10th Anniversary of Elmont’s 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament. The tournament hosts players from area communities in 5th grade through college for a series of 3-on-3 basketball games at the Dutch Broadway School. The day’s events also include a wheelchair basketball matchup between Henry Viscardi School and Elmont Memorial, lacrosse games, 7-0n-7 football and soccer competitions, a slam dunk contest and a 3 point shoot-out. Sponsored by State Senator Jack M. Martins, this fun-filled day draws thousands of players, residents and volunteers to Elmont each year, instilling a sense of community spirit with some friendly competition thrown in.
