(Mineola, NY)   The Williston Park Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce of the Williston’s recently held a memorial service in honor of Nicholas “Bud” Haller who passed away in January.   Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell, along with other area officials, joined the Haller family and members of the Williston Park Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce to remember this outstanding individual for his dedication, commitment and service to his community.  He moved to the Williston Park area in 1955 and immediately became involved with St. Aidan Church, where he served as an usher, was a member of the Holy Name Society and volunteered as a CYO football coach.  He then got involved in local politics, serving as a trustee and deputy mayor of the Village of Williston Park from 1970-1972.  He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, Corpus Christi Council, past president of the Williston Park Rotary and past vice president of the Chamber of Commerce of the Willistons, a longtime member of American Legion Williston Post 144 and a trustee of the Williston Park Library.  To honor him, a tree was planted in the Williston Park Gazebo in his memory.
