NASSAU COUNTY CLERK AWARD PRESENTED

(MINEOLA, NY)  Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell recently presented Wantagh High School seniors Lisamarie Calandra and William (Billy) Walsh with the 2008 County Clerk Award.  This award is given to two members of the graduating class who embody the spirit of community service and volunteerism, while also excelling in their academics.  Lisamarie is an honors student at Wantagh High School and among her many civic contributions, most significant is her work in the Peer Partnership Program in which she serves as a mentor to students with disabilities.  Also an honors student, Billy is involved in numerous activities, most notably as a dedicated member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce through which he has committed himself to bettering his community.  Pictured with County Clerk O’Connell (center) are awardees Billy (left) and Lisamarie (right).  County Clerk O’Connell congratulates Lisamarie, Billy and the entire Wantagh High School Class of 2008 on their wonderful achievements and wishes all much future success.
