Maragos: NassauRx Card Saved Residents Over $1.6m in 2010

The Free Prescription Drug Discount Program is Available to All Nassau Residents

Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos announced today that the NassauRx prescription drug discount card has saved residents over $1.6 million so far in 2010. The NassauRX program was put in place by the prior Comptroller and has saved County residents over 13 million since its inception in 2004.

“NassauRX is freely available to all residents,” Comptroller Maragos said. “The average savings range from 24 percent on almost all prescription medications and up to 50 percent on generic drugs. The card is accepted at more than 90 percent of Nassau pharmacies. Every resident should get the NassauRX Card, especially during these difficult economic times where families have to make sure every dollar counts. Everyone is eligible.”
