Mangano Saves More Than 100k In New Data Communications Agreements

In a continuing effort to reduce costs and better serve taxpayers, County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced the replacement of seven T1 data circuits with Cablevision Boost service. This conversion will save Nassau County approximately $60,000.00 annually in Information Technology (IT) costs, while maintaining the same level of service.

“This is yet another way we are reducing costs and saving taxpayer dollars,” said County Executive Mangano. “We are continually looking for new and innovative ways to save on operating costs in order to return Nassau County to fiscal stability.”

The IT Department continually investigates options related to cost reduction and improved services. This migration clearly demonstrates the outcome of an effective IT strategy. This will be one of many similar projects that will reflect Mangano’s ongoing efforts to reduce Nassau’s operating costs without reducing services. The County undertook a similar initiative two months ago in signing a shared services agreement with Sprint, resulting in an annual savings of $90,000.
