Mangano, LIPA, F.R.E.E. and EmPower Celebrate The Largest Not-For-Profit PV Installation On Long Island

Mangano, LIPA and FREE team up for PV installation

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano joined the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE) and EmPower Solar to celebrate Long Island’s largest multi-site solar photovoltaic systems (PV) installation, which was the installation of 45 new PV on the not-for profit FREE facilities designed to help reduce their electric bills.

County Executive Mangano stated: “Going green saves green. In times when energy costs are soaring, we must do all we can to mitigate that cost and that is why my first act of office was to repeal the Home Energy Tax that drove up energy expenses for our residents. I commend LIPA for investing in a solar entrepreneur program to provide the incentives needed to mitigate installation expenses and reduce energy costs by 27% at F.R.E.E.’s 45 properties across Long Island. Nassau County has also benefited from the generosity of LIPA who partnered with the county to create a renewable Energy Park at Museum Row.”
