Statement from Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano on Nice Bus Restoration

"Beginning this evening, NICE BUS is restoring service as road conditions permit. Starting tomorrow morning, NICE Bus will restore 80% of all service and will be adding routes as road conditions improve.

Routes will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

A frequently updated list of open routes and or detours is available by visiting NICEBUS.com or on Facebook at thenicebus.

Able-Ride Service is available however, as operations return to normal, Able-Ride customers may find that many destinations are not open and are therefore encouraged to confirm their appointments before scheduling their trip.

Nice Bus and Able-Ride will not be collecting fares for Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

NICE BUS & Able-Ride will continue to assess the situation and are working with local officials to return to 100% service as quickly as possible. This unprecedented storm has taken out many traffic signals, brought down trees and power lines making travel difficult. These issues will impact bus schedules and may require detours. Please plan accordingly.”
