Mangano And IDA To Host Economic Development And Energy Efficienct Summit For Business Community

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) will host a free economic development and energy efficiency summit for business leaders. The summit, called “Taking Charge of Your Energy Costs,” will be held on May 29, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Nassau County Legislative Chambers at the Theodore Roosevelt County Executive and Legislative Building, located at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola.

“We all know reducing energy costs is essential for retaining and expanding business opportunities,” said County Executive Mangano. “Our goal is to provide businesses in Nassau County with the knowledge and ability to potentially lower their energy costs so that they can focus on creating and retaining local jobs.”

Joseph J. Kearney, Executive Director of the Nassau County I.D.A. added: “Together with County Executive Mangano and our business leaders, we are bringing together, in one place and at one time, many of the resources needed to implement energy efficient solutions and strategies for businesses in Nassau County.”

Speakers on the program will describe a variety of economic development, rebate and incentive programs offered by the Long Island Power Authority, National Grid and the New York Power Authority.

The IDA Director of Business Development, Nicholas Terzulli, will moderate a panel of experts, including James Stapleton, Manager National Grid Energy Efficiency Programs; John Franceschina, Director of Commercial & Industrial Programs at L.I.P.A.; Joanne Schindelheim, Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Marketing, L.I.P.A.; Tony Savino, Manager, Business Marketing and Economic Development, New York Power Authority; and Domenic Musco, Manager, Energy Services, RISE Engineering.
