Mangano Announces Nassau County, Long Island Conservatory Of Music To Host 9th Annual International Music Competition

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced today that the Long Island Conservatory of Music and the LISMA Foundation will host the 9th Annual International Music Competition on August 23rd- 24th at the Long Island Conservatory, with the Winners’ Concert held on August 25th at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola. This competition is open to the public. There will also be a dinner party held following the concert.

Co-sponsored by Nassau County, the event will feature talented young musicians from around the world competing in areas of piano, violin/viola, cello, and wind/brass. A special Winner’s Concert and Awards Ceremony will be held at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 4:00 p.m., featuring performances by first place winners from each category.

“I am pleased to host such a special event and I wish all of our incredibly talented participants the best of luck in the competition. I look forward to an exciting evening of music on August 25th,” said County Executive Mangano.

Competition winners will receive prizes which are made possible through sponsorship by SAMSUNG, Guardian, Woori America Bank, Flushing Bank, and Americana Manhasset.
