Mangano To Host Outreach Seminar For Fit Nassau

Wellness, Green Companies Encouraged to Become Part of County’s Team

Continuing to expand upon his Fit Nassau Initiative, which is designed to encourage healthy lifestyle choices, County Executive Edward P. Mangano is sponsoring a Wellness and Green Program to encourage participation by companies, practitioners and individuals.

The first of what will be several events, the Nassau County Wellness and Green Program is planned for 7 p.m. on October 18th at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Plainview. The County’s Lead Ambassador of Wellness at Large, Donna Martini, will present the free, one-hour seminar.

County Executive Mangano stated, “Everything we see and read tells us that programs that focus on wellness in schools and the workplace are beneficial to improving health and reducing health care costs. By expanding the Fit Nassau Initiative to health, fitness, wellness and green practitioners who can market their services to schools and businesses, we are creating a partnership that will have immeasurable health benefits for our residents.”

The Nassau County Wellness and Green Program is another component of County Executive Mangano’s Fit Nassau Initiative and the Ambassadors of Wellness volunteer effort which builds on the goal of encouraging healthy living. Businesses are offered an array of worksite wellness programs that are suited to meet their specific needs.
