Mangano And Kopel Partner With Lawrence Community To Offer Free Health & Wellness Fair

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, in partnership Legislator Howard J. Kopel and the Lawrence community, invite residents to attend an annual Health & Wellness Fair on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Inwood #4 Primary Elementary School, 87 Wanser Avenue, Inwood. This event, co-sponsored by Winthrop University Hospital, South Nassau Communities Hospital, NuHealth, New York Sports Clubs, Dover Caterers, Steve Madden, and School District 15, is free and open to the public.

The fair will feature an array of health and wellness resources, demonstrations, entertainment, balloons, games, and refreshments. Attendees will have the opportunity to receive free medical testing, vaccinations, mammograms, as well as attend martial arts, yoga, and pilates classes.

“I am happy to partner with the Lawrence communityto host a health and wellness fair,” said County Executive Mangano. “This health fair is a good example of government and local communities working together to foster quality care in a convenient forum for families and seniors.”

This collaborative effort, involving many Nassau County agencies and related health and human service providers, seeks to promote access to health care, encourage preventative health screenings and provide residents with information to help them live a healthier lifestyle.
