Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano was joined by Children’s Sport Connection (CSC), Adults and Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) and many young men and women as they kicked off the Sports Equipment Drive at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in Eisenhower Park. The Sports Equipment Drive will collect gently used sports equipment from October 15th to November 15th. With the help of local children and parents like the generous individuals who attended and made the first donations at the kick-off event yesterday, every child can enjoy the opportunity to play sports.
Equipment collected will benefit ACLD with over 20 group homes in Nassau County and a youth program for those with developmental and learning disabilities. The month long drive will also benefit children from various programs throughout the County. Everyone is encouraged to donate their gently used and new golf clubs, baseball mitts, tennis racquets, skates, balls and any sports related items at the following locations:
