Abrahams Honors Chandeerah Davis for Outstanding Academic Achievements

During a full session of the Legislature held earlier this month, Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) recognized Chandeerah Davis, a 2010 graduate of Nassau Community College, on her exemplary the academic achievements. Legislator Abrahams said, “I would like to congratulate Chandeerah on her hard work and determination which resulted in a 3.7 GPA. Chandeerah earned eight scholarship awards including the prestigious Jack Kent Cook Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship which grants $30,000 each year for two years nationwide to only 40 students. Well done!”


Chandeerah was accepted to Harvard University and Cornell University. She will be conducting summer research at SUNY Purchase. Chandeerah earned additional scholarships which include the ALAN Merit award, Paul Doyle Award for Excellence in English, The NCC Alumni Association Scholarship, the Ronald W. Jennings Memorial, Scholarship, the NYS Transfer Articulations Association Scholarship, the Joseph F. Carlino, Jr. Academic Excellence and Service Award, and the Barnes and Noble Scholarship.
