HEWLETT NATIVE CRASHES SUPER BOWL

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Legislator Howard J. Kopel today congratulated Hewlett native and Lynbrook High School graduate Michael Doneger, one of ten finalists in the nationwide Doritos and Pepsi Max “Crash the Superbowl” contest.

As a finalist, Michael has already won $25,000 and earned a trip to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas, Texas, for his Pepsi MAX commercial, “Elevator Girl.”

Michael will now go on to compete for “Elevator Girl” to be one of six consumer-created ads that will air during the Super Bowl XLV on February 6. If “Elevator Girl” is chosen, Michael will receive an additional $1 million prize. If during the Super Bowl “Elevator Girl” sweeps the top three rankings of the USA TODAY Ad Meter, Michael will take home a shared $5 million prize.

“I congratulate Michael on this already amazing accomplishment, and wish him the best of luck in the competition. He has all of Nassau County behind him,” said County Executive Mangano. “I urge everyone to cast their vote for Michael’s very creative ad, and to remember to tune in during the Super Bowl to see the results.”

“As an avid football fan myself, seeing Michael chosen as one of ten finalists in the entire nation is extraordinary. All residents of Legislative District 7 should heed County Executive Mangano's request to cast their votes for Michael's very creative and original advertisement," said Legislator Howard J. Kopel, who represents the Donegers’ hometown. "I'm sure I join countless neighbors and other residents who will be tuning in to the Superbowl not only to root Michael on, but to say 'hey, I know the guy who made that ad.' That's something we can all be proud of," Kopel said.
