LEGISLATOR GONSALVES ANNOUNCES NORTH MERRICK REVITALIZATION PROJECT

Nassau County Legislator Norma L. Gonsalves (R-East Meadow, LD 13) announced that the County Legislature has approved the Contract for major streetscape improvement in the unincorporated hamlet of North Merrick, along both Merrick Avenue and Jerusalem Avenue.

The revitalization project is for streetscape, lights, benches and brick pavers along the east and west sides of Merrick Avenue and a portion of Jerusalem Avenue, on the west side of Merrick from the northern most part of Pat’s Farm Supermarket southerly to Jerusalem Avenue, on the east side of Merrick Avenue from Columbine Avenue southerly to Jerusalem Avenue and on Jerusalem Avenue running east and west on the north side of the street between William and Midian Streets.

“This project will enhance the area and help local business. Furthermore, it will compliment beautification projects already installed in Merrick. It represents an investment by Nassau County in our community and I am proud to have secured the project for this area”.

Work is scheduled to commence in early July and should be completed by November.
