How's the water?
Jacobs calls for hearings on fiscal health of Nassau County Aquatic Center at Eisenhower Park

Mineola, NY - Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs last week called for investigative hearings into the fiscal health of Nassau County's Aquatic Center, located at Eisenhower Park.

The Olympic-size, state-of-the-art pool facility loses approximately $2 million a year. The facility was built in 1998 to host the Goodwill Games at a cost of $30 million.

"An investigative hearing will help us determine what can be done to improve the productivity of the aquatic center and how we might work together with the tourism industry to attract major sporting events to the site," said Jacobs.

The full legislative hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1 at 10 a.m. in the Ralph Caso Executive and Legislative Building, Fifth Floor, One West Street in Mineola.
