Legislator Jacobs Encourages First Time Home Buyers to Apply for an $8,000 Tax Credit

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) encourages first time home buyers who have purchased a principal residence on or after January 1, 2009 and before December 1, 2009 to apply for the federal government’s $8,000 tax credit. The tax credit is included in the President’s recent stimulus package.

“This is great for first-time homeowners,” Legislator Jacobs said. “The tax credit has been increased to $8000 and now people who utilize revenue bond financing can use credit, unlike in the past. And there is no repayment required.”
