Legislator Walker Attends Field of Honor Dedication Ceremony

Nassau County Legislator Rose Marie Walker joined Town of Oyster Bay Councilman Tony Macagnone and Principal Gene Fennell at the Holy Trinity Field of Honor dedication ceremony.  The Field of Honor is a field of 100 American Flags.  Each flag was purchased by someone in the school community to honor a veteran.  Proceeds from the sale of the flags will be donated to the Vietnam Veterans of America and the US Wounded Warriors Foundation.

The Field of Honor dedication followed a performance by the Holy Trinity Dance Company of "Into Sunlight".  "Into Sunlight" was inspired by the book "They Marched Into Sunlight" buy Pulitzer Prize Winning Author David Maraniss.  It is the story of the 1967 UW student protests against Dow Chemical and the coincident North Vietnamese ambush of a U.S. Battalion.
