It was a beautiful afternoon to spend at the Buoy Bar, in Point Lookout, where the family owned eatery sponsored its annual Chili contest. Over 20 amateur chefs submitted their best chili recipes. Legislator Denise Ford was asked by Tom & Roberta Doheny (Buoy Bar proprietors) to be the guest judge and choose her favorite chili dish, “I had a very difficult time as all the entries where truly delicious!” said Ford. In addition to a wonderful afternoon, “there is no charge for the sunset at the Buoy Bar” added Ford.

The winning chef’s were: 1st place, Jim Waska; 2nd place, Nikki Thaw; and 3rd place, Lynn Deverna.
