Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) has announced a one-day early bird registration for Nickerson Beach and Battle Row campgrounds.

On Saturday, February 1 2003, reservations will be accepted at the Nickerson Beach Activity Center from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration for both campgrounds will resume on March 7 at Nickerson Beach. Campers should be prepared to make payment at the time of reservation, and Leisure Passports are required.

Battle Row Campground, located on Claremont Road in Old Bethpage, boasts over 44 acres of campground and is surrounded by dense woods. The campground has 52 campsites, ranging in length from 40 to 45 feet, over half equipped with water and electric hookups.

Nickerson Beach Campground, located on Lido Boulevard in Lido, offers a unique seashore camping experience at Nassau's only county-operated ocean beach, offering 74 campsites with water and electric hook-ups and six tent campsites.

Both campgrounds will open on Friday, April 4, 2003.
