July 24, 2001 Legislator Williams promotes REAP program
to benefit electric customers In an ongoing effort to keep Nassau County residents informed about programs that may offer benefits at no cost or reduced cost to those living in the area, Legislator Patrick Williams, Sr. (D-Uniondale) announces the Residential Energy Affordability Partnership (REAP), a partnership of LIPA and Honeywell DMC Services, Inc. a program to assist both residential and rental electric customers. This new program has many benefits including free energy audits, safety checks, installation of various energy saving products, and in some cases a free refrigerator or compact fluorescent light bulbs. In order to qualify to receive these benefits one must be a LIPA electric customer and meet certain income level guidelines. To obtain the LIPA brochure, which will further explain the program, in both English and Spanish, call toll-free at 1-800-263-6786. Legislator Williams says, " I am interested in encouraging energy conservation and hope that residents will take advantage of the REAP program." |
