Legislator Muscarella Urges Prostate Cancer Awareness:
Nassau University Medical Center Offers
"No Out of Pocket Expense" Screenings

Each year, according to the American Cancer Society 250,000 men in the United States discover they have prostate cancer. The early stages of prostate cancer often manifest no symptoms.

"I urge men to take the time for themselves to participate in a prostate cancer screening program," said County Legislator Vincent Muscarella (R-West Hempstead). "A few minutes of time can save your life."

If you are a man 50 years of age or older, it is strongly recommended that you receive an annual examination. If there is a family history of prostate cancer, testing should start at age 40.

The Nassau University Medical Center offers a prostate cancer screening program designed to protect your health. The Center is located on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow.

"No out of pocket expense" prostate cancer screening examinations are being provided at the Nassau University Medical Center as a service to you. The screening program includes a physical examination and blood test to measure prostate specific antigen (PSA).

To arrange your appointment for this important examination, please call 572-5381.
