August 6, 2004 Looking into Nassau County’s future…Paying traffic tix on line will become a reality
Jacobs & Rules Committee approve contracts to provide services for online e-government Nassau County Presiding Officer Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and majority members of the Rules Committee approved several contracts last week that will allow the county’s e-government initiative to move forward. Two of the contracts-one for $12,800 to Quest Computer Products and the second for $72,950 to Neulion, Inc. Management Systems-will provide services to the Traffic, Parking and Violations Agency allowing the agency to implement an online parking and traffic ticket system. This online service is part of a grand plan for Nassau’s e-government initiative, which includes a county website, “Nassaucountyny.gov.” that is expected to go live in November 2004. In addition, another contract for $297,300 to Vermont Systems will provide services to the county for online capability so that residents will be able to purchase Parks and Recreation leisure passes, as well as make reservations for golf tee times. In other business, the Legislature’s Rules Committee also approved the following contracts:
