Department of Public Works Ready to Fill Potholes on County Roads Having already endured three significant winter storms, Nassau's roads will undoubtedly be put to the test yet again this snow season. Rising and falling temperatures, coupled with wet weather conditions, often result in potholes forming on roadways. These areas of deteriorated roadway can cause extensive damage to automobiles and in extreme cases cause accidents. To keep Nassau's roadways safe, Nassau County Legislator Patrick Williams (D-Uniondale) is asking residents to help identify these potentially dangerous areas of deteriorated roadway. If you see a pothole, please contact the Department of Public Works' Roadway Hotline at 571-6900 with its location. Operators are available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. |
