June 26, 2000 LEGISLATOR BECKER OFFERS IMPORTANT BOOKLET TO HELP PARENTS TALK TO THEIR CHILDREN ABOUT DRUGS
Nassau County Legislator Francis X. Becker, Jr. (R-Lynbrook) is offering for free to parents an excellent informational booklet produced by the US Department of Education entitled, "Growing-Up Drug Free: A Parent's Guide to Prevention". "The first line of defense against drug and alcohol abuse starts in the home," said County Legislator Becker. "This booklet produced by the Department of Education is an important resource to help parents talk to their kids about drugs and alcohol. It also addresses the difficult issue if you suspect that your child is abusing illegal substances. I wholeheartedly recommend it to parents and loved ones."
