Free Health Exams for Women Announced

Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hempstead) has announced the availability of free health services for uninsured women at the South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. Uninsured women can receive free breast and cervical cancer screening: free mammograms for women over age 40 and free Pap smears for women over the age of 40. These services are available at South Nassau Family Medicine, 196 Merrick Road, in Oceanside. An appointment is necessary and can be made by calling 516-255-8456.

Legislator Abrahams strongly urges all uninsured women to make an appointment for these services as soon as possible. Early detection is every woman’s best defense.
