Send Letters to Santa at Nassau County Parks

Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Hemsptead) wants kids from ages one to 92 to know that a special network of Santa’s Mailboxes is located throughout the Nassau County Parks system. These mailboxes will bring letters and lists straight to St. Nick’s door at the North Pole.

“The holidays are right around the corner and Nassau County is providing children young and old with a direct line to Santa’s workshop,” Abrahams said. “Make sure to get those letters in quickly so you don’t end up on the ‘Naughty’ list.”

The mailboxes will accept letters through Monday, December 17. Letters to Santa will receive a reply in the form of a “Santa-Gram” from the North Pole. Santa’s elves at the Parks Department will help Santa send cheery but non-committal letters in response to children’s letters. To assure a reply, each letter must contain the child’s name and address, written legibly. Santa-Grams will be sent before the holiday.

Colorful red and green mailboxes will be accessible from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the administration buildings of the following parks:

 

• Cantiague Park in Hicksville
• Christopher Morley Park in Roslyn-North Hills
• Grant Park in Hewlett
• Rev. Arthur Mackey, Sr. Park in Roosevelt
• Wantagh Park in Wantagh
• Eisenhower Park’s Special Activities Building at Parking Field #8 and the Nassau Aquatic Center at Parking Field #1A.

Letters can also be deposited at the Parks Department Administration Building in Eisenhower Park, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. No postage is necessary for the Santa letters.
