Legislator Abrahams Joins Roosevelt Memorial Day Parade
(ROOSEVELT, NY) – Nassau County Legislator Kevan Abrahams (D-Freeport) proudly participated in the Roosevelt Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27, 2013. The 2013 Grand Marshal was Roosevelt resident and Montford Point Marine Robert L. Harding. That day, Harding, 84, one of the country’s first black Marines, received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor, which is the nation’s highest civilian honor given by Congress. The American Legion, Joe Murphy Post 1957 also dedicated an Armed Forces Monument that was unveiled. Shown here (from L-R) are Legis.
