Legislator Carrie Solages Offers Tax Assessment Workshop

Legislator Carrie Solages sponsored a tax assessment workshop at the Elmont Public Library on January 25, 2012 and February 22, 2012. Over 250 people turned out to attend the workshops, during which they were provided with a detailed overview of the tax assessment process.

Legislator Solages was “extremely gratified” with the fact that so many residents who attended the event were people who had never attended such an event before. “Residents clearly feel that Nassau County government needs to do more to engage people, and I am honored and privileged to have sponsored tonight’s event… the property valuation process can prove perplexing for many residents, and I am glad that I could do my part to make the process easier.”

A representative from the Nassau County Tax Assessment Review Commission was available throughout the evening to provide residents with information on the tax assessment process and to answer any questions residents
