On September 23, Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) took on a different kind of day job. She went to Greenfield’s ShopRite of Morton Village, put on an apron and got to work bagging groceries to raise awareness regarding hunger in our community. Throughout the day, cashiers at ShopRite asked for donations for the ShopRite Partners in Caring Fund to help fill the shelves of local community food banks.
Legislator Jacobs said, “The entire community owes a Thank you and recognition to Jon Greenfield and Shop Rite for their dedication in fighting hunger. It was my pleasure to participate.”
Now in its 10th year, the Partners in Caring Fund has donated more than $20 million to hunger relief agencies in the tri-state area including Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland.
