Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) enjoyed meeting with Plainview Eagle Scout Robert Brachman (right), to discuss the County government. Legislator Jacobs congratulated Robert on his recent accomplishment at a meeting of the Legislature on August 16th. The Legislator discussed with Robert many important issues. Robert suggested to Legislator Jacobs that a law requiring every home and business to have clearly marked address numbers on their structures would be very helpful. They both agreed that this would help not only those looking to visit someone, but especially, our emergency responders who need to locate an address quickly. Legislator Jacobs said, "I have already begun to research this possible legislative proposal and will keep Robert and other constituents informed as I proceed to obtain information."
Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) attended an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Daniel B. Lomenzo, on August 20, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church in Syosset. For his Eagle Scout project Daniel chose to give back to his community by creating a campsite for public use at the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. He led a group of volunteers as they cleaned the area, created a fire pit, placed three wooden benches, a bulletin board, as well as a new trail leading to the site. Daniel is an honor roll student at Plainview-Old Bethpage/ JFK High School and was recently inducted into the National Honor Society. Congratulations Daniel for a job well done!
