Are you willing to give some of your time in service to those in need? If the answer is yes, Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) needs you, said Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury).
The NUMC Service Excellence Liaison Program is one in which trained volunteers interact with patients as “friendly NUMC ambassadors” for informational purposes and, more importantly, meet with patients to welcome them to NUMC and personalize their stay.
“Volunteering benefits all those involved, from the patients to the volunteer to the Medical Center,” Jacobs said. “I strongly encourage those who can help to get involved with the Service Excellence Liaison Program.”
The goal is to promote and enhance the patient and family’s positive feelings about the NUMC hospital experience. This is also a great opportunity to those interested in pursuing a career in healthcare.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer Service Excellence liaison, please contact NUMC’s Organizational Development Department at (516) 572-5681.
