Legislator Jacobs Shares Her Favorite Book with Stratford Road Children

Helps launch annual READ-IN day for PARP

Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) was invited to share her favorite book with first graders in Ms. Bamel’s class recently at Stratford Road Elementary School. She was invited to visit the Plainview school to help launch Parents As Reading Partners, a nationwide program that fosters a love of reading in children where schools invite guest readers from the community and promote read-a-louds by parents.

“When I visit children during PARP I always tell them how important reading is, and how much I enjoy reading myself,” Legislator Jacobs said. “And I really do look forward each year to reading to the children. I’m honored that Stratford Road asked me to be one of their readers once again.”
