Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) enjoyed another visit by two more 4th grade classes from Parkway School in Plainview. The 4th graders are studying government and Jacobs showed them the new County Executive/Legislative building, a time capsule originally buried in 1949 and slated to be opened in 2037 and the legislative chamber where the classes conducted mock legislative meetings on two subjects: should cell phones be used in school; and should texting be allowed when driving. Jacobs said, "The students were wonderful and I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to share some history with them."
