The Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church of Syosset held a special worship service on Sunday, June 26th, to ask for blessings upon the construction workers rebuilding Jackson Avenue. Pastor Marc Herbst led the service and shared in the joy of the construction finally beginning. Herbst, who is also the Executive director of the Long Island Construction Association of NYS was instrumental in the process. Sharing in the special day were Nassau County Legislator Judy Jacobs (D-Woodbury) and Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto and members of the Oyster Bay Town Board, in addition to the Lizza Construction firm and Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset. Jacobs, who worked for over 10 years to make this a reality, had great praise for Supervisor Venditto who joined with her in the home stretch when both elected officials joined together to make this a reality. Jacobs said,” this is a true indicator of what can be accomplished when politics is pushed aside and logic and care are the key words of the day.”
Jacobs addresses those gathered, joined by Supervisor Venditto, Pastor Mark Herbst and members of the Oyster Bay Town Board.
