Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano today announced that Nassau County has joined with the Long Island Taxi Transportation Operator’s Association (LITTOA) for a holiday toy drive to benefit Nassau County’s Big Brothers & Big Sisters.
LITTOA members are collecting new/unopened toys now through December 15, 2011, and the public can give a new, unopened toy to a LITTOA member’s driver or drop a toy at a number of taxi offices throughout Nassau County. LITTOA members will also donate gift cards from Wal-Mart, BestBuy, and Target for the older children and teens so they can choose a special holiday gift.
“I encourage everyone to bring a toy to one of the convenient locations around the county, and bring a smile to a child’s face this holiday season,” said County Executive Mangano.
The following locations will accept donations through December 15th:
“We ask our customers to donate a toy to help lift theholiday spirit to children in need,” says LITTOA spokesman Jason Verity.
The Long Island Taxi Transportation Operators Association (LITTOA) was founded in 1960 and has been providing membership with a network of programs, services and support that enhance members’ ability to effectively and profitably serve local public transportation needs.
