Services Provided by Nassau County C.A.S.A.

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVES

  • A bridge to the Hispanic business community and relevant Nassau County departments
  • Link with Nassau County Office of Economic Planning
  • A conduit to Nassau County government with Hispanic businesses and Chambers of Commerce for partnership opportunities

    HOUSING ASSISTANCE

  • Partner with Nassau County Housing Department for outreach and bilingual support
  • Advocate for more affordable and safer housing on Long Island for all residents, particularly in minority communities

    COMMUNITY RESOURCE INFORMATION and REFERRAL

  • Provide bilingual assistance to clients seeking information about existing community and/or state and federal agency services related to employment, health, housing and educational concerns
  • Provide Intake, needs assessment, referral and follow-up to appropriate resources

    IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION SERVICES

  • Assist clients with immigration and naturalization cases. C.A.S.A.'s immigration staff facilitates each client's completion of required INS forms, timely submission of all documents, and provides follow-up for each client

    ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAM

  • English As A Second Language (ESL), GED in Spanish and Computer Skills are offered six days and five evenings a week throughout the year at C.A.S.A. for all adult Nassau County residents. The classes are funded by the Hempstead PS District Adult and Community Education Program and by education grants. For more information please call us at (516) 572-0750.

    ADVOCACY

  • Advocate in a variety of areas including: landlord/tenant complaints, consumer rights, employees injustices, human rights and wherever necessary.
  • Support County departments in strategic planning to address the needs of the Hispanic community
  • Link Hispanic constituents with local legislators and officials

    COMMUNITY OUTREACH

  • Provide socio/cultural information of the Latino community to various agencies, throughout other communities and to media sources.
  • All of the immigration services and services to the community are provided by C.A.S.A.'s bilingual counselors.
