(Mineola, NY)  Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell recently met with Hofstra University Paralegal Studies Program students offering them a tour of and introduction to the various departments of the County Clerk’s Office.  Paralegals provide essential support to attorneys and the legal community in regard to legal proceedings.  The County Clerk’s Office is Chief Clerk of Nassau’s Supreme and County Courts, processing documents related to civil proceedings and recording all real property instruments.  Many paralegal professional duties may be carried out in the County Clerk’s Office.  County Clerk O’Connell gave the students an opportunity to see first hand the practical applications of their studies while being exposed to the procedural aspects of Nassau’s legal system.  Through this informative experience these future paralegal professionals gained a real world understanding to complement their course work.
