Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell, a registered nurse and member of the Farmingdale State College Nursing Department Advisory Board, recently attended the Board’s annual meeting. Clerk O’Connell joined the discussion focusing on how the College and its Nursing Department plan to fulfill the needs and overcome the challenges of the future healthcare community. Among the topics discussed were expected trends in nursing employment, the impact of cutting edge technology, such as electronic medical records, and the potential effects of Federal healthcare reform on the nursing field.
