(Mineola, NY)  Launched in 2000, the annual Long Island Business News Top 50 Most Influential Women in Business program recognizes the Island’s top women professionals for business proficiency, mentoring and community commitment.  The program’s honorees represent the most influential women in business, government and the not-for-profit fields.  Past honorees coordinate each year’s program, including selecting future award recipients.

Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell, a 2007 award recipient, recently met with past honorees Dr. Neetah M. Shah, VP Women’s Health Services, North Shore LIJ Health System, Iris Katz, for whom North Shore LIJ Katz Women’s Hospital is named, and Geri Barash, President of “1-in-9”, the Long Island Breast Cancer Action Coalition, as well as with event sponsor North Shore LIJ Katz Women’s Hospital Community Director Ivy Algazy, at the 2011 program kickoff luncheon.
