Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell was recently invited to read with students at Old Country Road School for “Great Read Aloud Day” and at East Street School for a “Read-In” in celebration of National Library Week. These events were terrific opportunities for the children to interact with leaders in the community and to hear firsthand about what they do.
Clerk O’Connell shared the book Do Unto Otters by Laurie Keller with Ms. Maddaloni’s Kindergarten Class at Old Country Road, and Challenger, America’s Favorite Eagle by Margot Theis Raven with Mrs. Bodt’s 4th Grade Class at East Street. The children enjoyed hearing the stories and also learning about the County Clerk’s Office.
