East Street School Celebrates Reading

            (Mineola, NY)  In celebration of National Library Week East Street School in Hicksville held a “Read-In” to learn about the joys of reading with their students.  Guest speakers were invited to join the students to read a book to the class and then talk about the story.  Having special visitors helps emphasize for the children the importance of reading and encourages them to share in the excitement that is discovered through books.

            Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell was on hand to read to Mrs. Stimac’s fourth grade class.
