Mineola, NY) Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell was recently invited to be a member of the panel for the Adelphi University “Women in Government: Encouraging the Next Generation,” event, coinciding with Women’s History Month. The objective of this unique and stimulating panel discussion was to encourage more young women to explore careers in public service.
The selected panel of women who serve, or have served, in public office, shared stories about their efforts and perseverance to reach their goals. They discussed the challenges they faced and their achievements as public officials. They also spoke about their backgrounds and the reasons that led them to serve their communities.
