County Clerk O’Connell Named

to Statewide Committee

           

      (Mineola, NY)  Nassau County Clerk Maureen O’Connell has been named to the New York Association of County Clerks E-filing Standards and Rules Committee.  The Nassau County Clerk’s Office, in partnership with the Unified Court System, has participated in the court document e-filing pilot initiative since its inception, which has seen a growth of over 3000%.  County Clerk O’Connell has led the way in expanding the availability of the program in Nassau County, which currently files the highest number of cases in the state outside of New York City.  The Committee will work directly with the Courts and County Clerk’s throughout the state to continue the momentum of e-filing while addressing the needs of each office to handle the filings and set standards.  Through this appointment County Clerk O’Connell will continue her advocacy for the use of e-filing to assist in streamlining services to residents and reduce the volume of physical paper utilized in court actions.

      County Clerk Maureen O’Connell recently met with Nassau County Administrative Judge Anthony Marano and NYS Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Michael Coccoma, who will join her in serving on this Committee, to discuss the leadership role Nassau County will continue to have in the e-filing program.  Pictured from left to right are Justice Anthony Marano, County Clerk Maureen O’Connell and Justice Michael Coccoma.
