Nassau County to Host Minority Bankers and Financial Services Executives Roundtable Conference

Mineola, NY – The Nassau County Office of Minority Affairs will host its first executive round table with minority bankers and financial service firms and representatives from various county departments on Tuesday, March 23, 2010.

“Bringing together all the critical parties will lead to greater working relations between them,” Mangano said. “Everybody deserves a chance to succeed here. We want to help that process.”

The roundtable event will focus on jumpstarting an increase of business for minority-owned financial institutions, and fostering involvement between the women-and-minority owned and operated businesses. Other discussion topics will include understanding the Nassau County contracts process and job creation.

In addition to minority and women-owned financial institutions and businesses, representatives from Nassau County government will also be in attendance, including Deputy County Executive for Finance Tim Sullivan, Department of Public Works Commissioner Shila Shah-Gavnoudias, and Comptroller George Maragos.
