Mangano To Host Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Commemoration

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, the honorary Chairperson of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration Committee of Nassau County, Inc., announces a number of commemorative events will take place January 15 through 17th, 2011 as part of the 26th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration. The County Executive invites members of the public to attend.

County Executive Mangano will be the keynote speaker at the annual scholarship awards luncheon, where individuals will be recognized for their efforts in fostering the social and philosophical values of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Through Dr. King’s values and ideals, we understand his message of equality, nonviolence, justice and community action,” said County Executive Mangano. “This day is a time to remember his fight for the dignity of all races and people and a time to remember that we too, can make a difference here in Nassau County and beyond.”
