Mangano, Ciotti Unveil New "Toy Story" Classroom At Elmont's Gateway Youth Outreach

Children Have New Classroom Thanks to Generosity of

Disney, Toys for Tots, Home Depot

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Legislator John Ciotti today hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at Clara H. Carlson School in Elmont to officially dedicate a newly-renovated room at the school, which houses the Gateway Youth Outreach program. At the suggestion of Mangano and Ciotti, the Disney Corporation officially “adopted” Gateway and partnered with Home Depot to redesign the classroom with Toy Story-themed decorations, including a special toy chest. As part of the ceremony, the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program also presented each child with a toy, and the children each received complimentary tickets for life to see Disney On Ice Presents Disney•PIXAR’s Toy Story 3.

“I want to personally thank Disney on Ice for their generous donation of tickets for life for Gateway Youth Outreach; I thank Home Depot for the work they did in this newly refurbished classroom and the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Program for the toys they brought to these children today,” said County Executive Mangano. “Gateway Youth Outreach is a great agency, going above and beyond to brighten the lives of the children they serve.”
