Mangano No-Tax Increase Budget Commended By County Comptroller

Maragos Supports “incredibly bold and successful budget plan

that is realistic and balanced”

Calling it “balanced…by the use of bold and creative initiatives,” Nassau County Comptroller George Maragos today endorsed the 2011 Proposed County Budget submitted by County Executive Edward P. Mangano.

“The Comptroller’s review provides further evidence that my no-property tax increase budget is balanced and makes the structural reforms necessary to fix Nassau’s finances,” said County Executive Mangano. “The Comptroller and I both agree that it is necessary to put an end to the practice of borrowing for tax refunds once and for all.”

Facing a staggering $343 million deficit caused by years of mismanagement and a poor economy, Mangano’s budget brings Nassau County back from the brink of bankruptcy.  For more information please visit www. www.nassaucountynewsnetwork.com, the County’s online news service.
