Mangano Teams Up With LI Conservatory Of Music For Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Benefit

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano joined today with the Long Island Conservatory of Music and Japanese community leaders to announce a benefit art show and concert to help those in Japan who have been devastated by the earthquake and tsunami.

“The heartfelt condolences of Nassau County residents go out to the families of those who lost their lives in Japan,” said County Executive Mangano. “I am so pleased that the Long Island Conservatory took the initiative to raise donations to help those in need. I encourage all of our residents to visit the benefit and make a donation to help those in Japan who are desperately in need of our assistance.”

Long Island Conservatory of Music PresidentMinsun Kim stated, “TheJapanesepeople aregoingthrough a horriblesituation. It is something that has touched us deeply and we all needtohelp in any way that we can.”

“Thedevastatingeffects of this event are a reminder to all of us just how precious life is and how very close to the tipping point we are every day of our lives. At times like these, we need to open ourheartsto those who need us,” said LI Conservatory Executive Director Patricia Schust.

Theart show and concert benefit will take place on Saturday, April 2 in Albert Hall at the Long Island Conservatory of Music, located at 1125 Willis Avenue in Albertson. The art show begins at 4:00 p.m. and will feature student work. Immediately following at 6:00 p.m., the faculty of theConservatorywill feature a classical music concertwithproceedsto be sent to the Japan relief effort. All are invited.
