Mangano Welcomes New Business To Nassau County

Mangano welcomes new business to nassau county

Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano attended the Grand Opening Ceremony of Cheaper Peepers in Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City on March 2nd. County Executive Mangano thanked Cheaper Peeper stores for choosing Nassau County as the home for all four of their stores and wished them good luck in all future endeavors.

“During these difficult economic times it is encouraging when new stores open and contribute to our local economy,” said County Executive Mangano. “I am 100% focused on rebuilding Nassau County’s economy. Because high taxes kill jobs, the Majority Legislature and I removed a $485 million County tax burden over the next four years off the backs of homeowners and employers.

This includes the elimination of the energy tax that cost homeowners $40 million a year and the elimination of a 16.5% property tax hike planned by my predecessor.”

Mangano continued: “The County also filed a lawsuit against the MTA to stop the job-killing payroll tax that hurts small businesses in our County and drives up property taxes to fund New York City’s transportation system. We will continue to do all we can to improve the economic climate of Nassau County.”
